Frequently Asked
Questions
General Questions
1. What makes Endurance Unleashed different from traditional physical therapy clinics?
You receive a full hour of one-on-one care with Dr. Rob, with no techs, no overlapping patients, and no rushed sessions. Your treatment blends hands-on care, strength training, and sport-specific movement analysis so you can move better, perform better, and stay pain-free.
2. Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
No. Both North Carolina and New York allow you to begin PT without a referral. If your insurance plan requires one for reimbursement, we'll help you understand what's needed.
3. Do you treat non-athletes or people who just want to feel better?
Yes. While we specialize in endurance athletes, we also work with active adults who want to move comfortably, stay strong, and prevent injuries, even if they don't train or race competitively.
4. Endurance Unleashed isn't close to me. Why do people still choose to come here?
Many clients choose to work with Dr. Rob even when they live 30, 45, or 60 minutes away. They make the drive because they want focused, one-on-one care from a PT who understands endurance athletes and delivers results when other approaches haven't worked.
Pain, Assessment & Treatment
5. How do you figure out the real cause of my pain?
We start with a detailed biomechanical assessment that looks at how you move, how you load your body, and how your strength and mobility contribute to your symptoms. This allows us to identify the true source of the problem instead of simply treating the painful area.
6. What if I've already tried PT, chiropractic, or injections and nothing helped?
Many of our clients come to us after other treatments haven't worked. Because we spend a full hour with you and tailor every part of your plan, we can address the underlying issues that often get missed in fast-paced or insurance-restricted settings.
7. What types of conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of issues including running-related pain, cycling-related discomfort, back and joint pain, post-surgical recovery, mobility limitations, strength deficits, and chronic pain that hasn't improved elsewhere. If it affects your movement or performance, we can help.
Appointments & Scheduling
8. How long are sessions?
We offer both 60-minute and 30-minute sessions. Most people choose the full hour because it allows for a more complete assessment and treatment plan, but the 30-minute option works well for focused follow-ups, quick progress checks, or days when your schedule is tight.
9. How quickly can I get an appointment?
We offer flexible scheduling and can usually see new clients within a few days. If you're dealing with acute pain or have an upcoming race, we'll do everything we can to get you in even sooner.
10. What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit includes a full movement and strength assessment, a conversation about your goals and training history, hands-on treatment when appropriate, and a personalized plan you can start right away. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what's going on and what steps will help you move forward.
Insurance & Payment
11. Do you take insurance?
We operate as an out-of-network provider so we can offer longer, individualized sessions without the limitations of insurance-driven care. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, we provide superbills you can submit for reimbursement.
12. Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Both HSA and FSA funds can be used for physical therapy services.
13. Why don't you work in-network with insurance?
Insurance often restricts session length, limits treatment options, and requires providers to see multiple patients at once. By staying out-of-network, we're able to deliver higher-quality care that leads to better results in fewer visits.
14. Will I know the cost before I commit?
Yes. We review all pricing and program options with you before scheduling your first session so there are no surprises.
15. Do you offer packages or programs?
Yes. We offer multi-session packages and performance-focused programs for clients who want structured, long-term support.
16. Do you offer financing options?
Yes. We offer flexible financing so you can choose a payment plan that fits your budget and keeps you focused on your recovery and performance goals. We'll walk you through the options and help you choose what works best for you.
Performance, Prevention & Long-Term Care
17. What happens after my pain is gone?
Once your symptoms improve, we shift into performance and prevention work. This includes building strength, improving mobility, and reinforcing movement patterns so you stay healthy and continue progressing toward your goals.
18. Do you offer ongoing performance or maintenance programs?
Yes. Many clients choose to continue with ongoing performance sessions to maintain progress, prevent future injuries, and stay accountable with expert guidance.
19. Can you help me prepare for a race or event?
Absolutely. We help runners, cyclists, and triathletes prepare for races by improving mechanics, building strength, and optimizing training loads so you can perform at your best.
Sport-Specific Services
20. Do you offer running or gait assessments?
Yes. Our Running and Gait Assessments use slow-motion video and movement analysis to identify inefficiencies and help you run more efficiently and comfortably.
21. Do you offer cycling assessments?
Yes. Our Cycling Assessment Clinic evaluates your bike fit, pedal mechanics, strength imbalances, and mobility limitations to improve comfort, power, and performance.
22. Do you work with CrossFit or strength athletes?
Yes. We help strength and CrossFit athletes improve mobility, refine lifting mechanics, and address recurring pain during training.
Getting Started
23. I'm not sure if my issue is serious enough for PT. Should I still come in?
Yes. You don't need to be in severe pain to benefit from PT. If something feels off, keeps coming back, or limits your training, it's worth addressing early before it becomes a bigger issue.
24. What's the difference between a Discovery Visit and a full evaluation?
A Discovery Visit is a short, no-pressure conversation to help you understand what's going on and whether we're the right fit. A full evaluation includes hands-on assessment, treatment, and a personalized plan.
